it's time to reach for the stars!

Happy Monday! I had a lovely weekend of movies and beach, so I think I'm back in the saddle with some mental clarity. I also got a re-stock on my favorite Very Mini Vanilla Meringuesfrom Trader Joe's, so if anything should keep my sanity on track these should do the trick.

After my last disappointing post, (which got funnier and funnier in the comments, thanks to some faithful readers!), I thought we should start the week off with a little bit of inspiration.

I've given you a bunch of options to choose from, so feel free to pick your ribbon and go for it!

No one is saying that you need to aim high; I'm feeling like working my way up to "alternate" this week. I like that there is a ribbon for that; a carrot at the end of a pole for me and a "better luck next time" for others. Which reminds me, have I ever told the story about how I used to go into the garden when I was little and pull carrots right out of the ground and eat them? No? Well, I'm not doing it today. I'm staying on topic. Trophies, ribbons, medals, Pulitzer Prizes, goals. How we are all going to be our very best selves this week.

Well, maybe just ribbons. Have you earned any of these today? Do you have your eye on one in particular? There was enough variety that I figured there would be options for just about anyone.

And speaking of honors and awards, I've got some more related posts coming up that I am finding to be very fascinating. I hope you do, too!

(photos taken by me on my way to the bike shop. I stopped in to a party supply store and found some good things, but thanks to my camera, I didn't end up bringing home any junk that I just don't have room for. Almost bought the classic glasses/nose/mustache combo though, but come on! Is it possible that I'll never grow up?)

You win hostess of dirt carrots! Today I was a Judge, while people-watching at the airport.

I like Participant.

Notice there's President Elect and Past President, but why nothing for the President? The title alone is supposed to be enough? I guess that tells you what ribbons are really for...reminding you you're not the President.

I'm glad you guys found some awards for yourselves. Well, Craig kind of took a Debbie Downer approach to it, but I'll give him a "supervisor" or "official" since that is kind of his job title.

Mel, that one was great. Our favorite pastime... people watching!

To put a positive spin on my comment: who wants to be president anyway? Past president sounds like such a relief! Heavy is the head that wears the crown.

I need the Judge one for Mia. You know how she rolls... "You be the judge".

She is always wanting me to judge her on her pageant walk. Unfortunately, I let her in on my tv junque time. Toddlers and Tiaras, what a show!
