Ah, globe lamp. You are finally mine! Ever since Anna mentioned hers I've been hoping to happen upon one of my own.
This was on of my lucky finds from the 4th of July. It is in good condition but the bulb was burned out, and it became mine for a song.
I had the whole world in pieces to change the bulb and clean it up a bit before taking some pictures when I noticed how pretty it looked from the inside.
The afternoon sun had turned it into a lamp in reverse, which of course caused me to love it even more and take about 300 additional pictures.
I had it all put back together and ready to go for the big reveal. I closed the curtains and waited for the evening to GET DARK ALREADY!
And the rest is history! It is the first light to be turned on at night, and last to be turned off before I head off to bed. And it is nice to have a decorative piece that reflects both Craig and my interests; me and my love for lamps and Craig, the little boy that loved looking at maps and then grew up to be a certified, bonafide, employed map nerd!

does this one look like yours? now I can stop being jealous of you! Or at least your lamp... : )
Thanks. Now I dare to take mine apart one day. Is your of glas or plastic? Mine is glas. But the principle is probably the same...
mine is plastic, but now knowing that there are glass ones out there I want one of those! Mine just had a little screw in the bottom to hold it onto the curved part that holds the whole globe in place. I hope that yours comes apart as easily!
