Craig now knows to show me the inside of any security envelopes that come in the mail, and is even starting to remember which ones I already have. "Do you still want this one? I think you already have it." Now, that is love.

It is starting to look like a quilt when I lay it all out. I've got no idea what I'll do with it all except for keep adding images to this flickr group. Sometimes life is all about flickr.

Etsy seller The Sweetie Pie Press is making badges from hers.

Those are fantastic! The badges are a wonderful idea:)
Maybe you could make a quilt out of them! Not a functional one, but you could cut the envelopes into squares, sew them together and hang the finished piece on the wall.
Huh! Who knew?
One more reason to avoid signing up for online billing.
I'll have to pay attention next time I get the mail.
Oh, I like the idea of actually sewing them together! Hmm...
Ursula, I didn't know you loved these too! I once did a swap with a lady in Australia so I got a bunch of patterns I'd never seen before and so did she. I'm sure fellow flickr-ers would be up for it! And yes paper quilt sounds lovely!
awesome!
I was inspired to collect these patterns after seeing an exhibit in San Francisco. The patterns were blown up, huge, on the walls.
The artist described his(?)admiration for these lowly art pieces, how someone out there spent time and energy creating them, only to be on the inside of an envelope and for the most part, ignored.
I've been fascinated ever since. I belong to that Flickr group too but have not added my images yet :P
Anna- I think that we may be twins separated at birth or something! You know, the kind of twins that are born in different years and accidently ending up on opposite sides of the pond. I was just looking at your most recent post with your new collages (beautiful!) and was thinking how some of the papers looked a little bit like these! I think that all together they can be a little overwhelming, but if they were to be used subtly in a collage like you make it could be very striking.
artlife- glad you like!
head bitch in charge- first, love the name. Second, that sounds so amazing! My sister was the first one to bring that same thought up to me (www.icebear.typepad.com) about how each unique one is designed by someone. I'm off to work now, but I'm definitely going to check out your blog when I get home.
